We design, our partners build

Portrait de François W. Beydoun, fondateur de CHANYA

Born in Beirut, based in Bordeaux, I trained as an industrial designer before shifting my practice toward eco-design, permaculture, and regenerative living. CHANYA is the result of that evolution: a French Tech-labeled engineering and design studio dedicated to next-generation sustainable housing, founded in Bordeaux with the support of Bpifrance.

What CHANYA does

We create bespoke habitats, designed to meet today’s environmental challenges, local contexts, and real human needs. Construction is carried out by a network of trusted partners, brought together within a Temporary Consortium (GME), ensuring each idea becomes a coherent, durable reality.

By combining AI with low-carbon 3D concrete printing and bio-based materials, we develop adaptive habitats for a variety of sectors: social and affordable housing, private or collective sustainable developments, eco-tourism villages, public sector projects, and high-end eco-conscious architecture.

Our impact

Our approach significantly reduces waste, carbon emissions, and construction timelines. The walls of a medium-sized housing unit can be printed in just a few days, using a recycled, low-carbon concrete that is far less polluting than conventional Portland cement — overall project timelines depend on finishes, context, and materials. In short: less carbon, more resilience, more purpose.

The book

My autobiography — A Drop Remembers the Ocean: One Soul’s Path Through Loss, Awakening, and Return — traces a journey from Beirut to Bordeaux, available in English, French, and Arabic.
